Leibnitz Had Idealized Things
Gottfried Leibnitz
Had Sort of Idealized Things
No, this isn’t the best of worlds but neither is it the
worst of worlds. The upshot is that when I was young at 19, I did not know the
pitfalls in the worlds, but now at 69, still don’t know them although quite a
few could have killed me. But then, asking Leibnitz, “Is death the worst thing?”
What if you died dishonoring your family or your country, the
flag or what-have-you?
Killing somebody in battle. I hope you can live that down.
Cause that guy or girl has parents, family, friends, and beliefs just like you
do.
Or selling drugs that deliver a slow-kill. I hope you can
live that down too. Cause that guy or gal has a potential just like you once
did.
Or by upholding the law because you made the law, you
asshole. And by enforcing it you rob someone of their necessities, liberty, or
life.
Or by trickling someone that this is the way things always
had been or will ever be, you sonofabitch, you stay on top.
You intimidate them by threatening them in so many subtle
and unsubtle ways. Be careful! Leibnitz is going to let you die in this actual world, and you shall never get to
know of other possible worlds.
Amen.
